Annual Conference 2019

Homes for Scotland's 8th annual one day conference "Outcomes + Opportunities" took place on Wednesday 13 November at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh.

Against the backdrop of latest official statistics showing that housing completions rose by 15% in 2018 (breaking the 20,000 barrier for the first time since 2008) this leading housing event considered this progress - and whether growth can be sustained in the longer term -  in the context of the key areas which were examined at our 2018 conference.  Discussion topics included:

• the macro perspective
• delivering quality and increasing satisfaction
• boosting capacity
• changing land and planning frameworks

Over 220 delegates heard from a diverse panel of speakers which included Derek Mackay MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Economy and Fair Work and Kevin Stewart MSP, Minister for Local Government, Housing and Planning.  Scottish Conservative housing and planning spokesperson Graham Simpson MSP participated as a panel speaker.
