One of the most significant initiatives ever undertaken by Homes for Scotland was the development of the MI New Home mortgage guarantee scheme in partnership with lenders and supported by the Scottish Government.

Introduced in 2012 to help buyers overcome the barrier of high deposit requirements, MI New Home helped some 800 households buy a new home up to £250,000 with a 5-10% deposit until scheme closure in March 2015.
