A record number of over 800 guests joined us for this year's Homes for Scotland Annual Lunch and Awards at the EICC on Friday 16 May, demonstrating its stature and position as the premier event in the Scottish home building industry calendar year-on-year.
Hosted by Rory Bremner, the event saw new Homes for Scotland Chair Sandy Adam give his inaugural speech in which he highlighted the importance of the Scottish Government's hugely successful Help to Buy shared equity scheme and called for a culture change in the planning system to enable builders to deliver the many thousands of new homes that are needed across the country.
Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon delivered the keynote address to what promises to be the single largest industry gathering ahead of the referendum, taking the opportunity to announce a welcome £40m funding boost for Help to Buy (Scotland).
As usual, the Lunch, which was sponsored by Burness Paull, was followed by our Annual Awards, celebrating the achievements of the home building industry over the last year. Click here for details of all the winners.
The pre-lunch drinks reception was sponsored by NHBC.
