Phase two of NHT scheme launched

A scheme to fund hundreds of affordable new homes in Scotland is responding to massive demand with a second phase today launched by Housing Minister Keith Brown.

Almost 500 homes have already been approved under the National Housing Trust initiative (NHT), with the first homes expected to be ready early next year.

Homes for Scotland's Chief Executive Jonathan Fair (right) said:

"As demonstrated by the success of its first phase, the National Housing Trust is delivering direct social and economic benefits in respect of those looking for affordable housing for rent and the companies building them."
