Winners will be announced at the Homes for Scotland for Scotland Annual Lunch at the EICC on Friday 4 May at which Housing Minister Keith Brown will be the keynote speaker. Hosted by Jackie Bird, over 580 industry representatives and their guests are already confirmed to attend what remains the premier event in the Scottish home building industry’s calendar. In addition to the above categories, Homes for Scotland is this year introducing a new headline award of “Home Builder of the Year”. In an exciting new twist, the independent judging panel, chaired by Glasgow Solicitors Property Centre Chief Executive Mark Hordern, will reveal their shortlisted recommendations at the event with the audience deciding the winner using a special electronic voting system. The winners of the keenly contested awards of Outstanding Achievement and Supporting Company of the Year will also be announced on the day, with no prior shortlist being released. Homes for Scotland Chief Executive Jonathan Fair said: “With such a large volume of quality submissions received for this year’s awards scheme, it has been encouraging to witness the wealth of talent on display from those who are continually striving to succeed in challenging circumstances. These organisations and individuals have fully engaged with the four key themes of our awards - areas which remain critical to industry recovery and future progression. “This year we will recognise best practice in initiatives which promote sustainability and the environmental agenda, approaches to house building delivery and customer experience. We will also celebrate those individuals deemed worthy of special recognition through their contributions to the industry.”
