Home builders raise £10,000 to help house disabled veterans

(Issued 22 November 2013)

Industry body Homes for Scotland (HFS) has presented a £10,000 cheque to charity Houses for Heroes Scotland in order to support the vital work it carries out to assist the country’s ex-service personnel.

The impressive sum was raised by attendees of the organisation’s Annual Lunch & Awards ceremony earlier this year.

Presenting the cheque to Houses for Heroes Scotland Chairman Lieutenant Colonel Richard Callander and Provost Helen Oswald earlier this month, HFS Chairman Jim Preston said:

“I am delighted to present this cheque on behalf of HFS in order to further the important work carried out by Houses for Heroes Scotland.

“As the lead charity housing disabled veterans in Scotland, Houses for Heroes deliver much-needed new and suitably adapted homes, and we hope that this donation will help the charity to reach its appeal target of building 60 new homes.”
